Such as a Tune-O-Matic, where you lower the bridge all-at-once with two thumbwheels, a wrapover intonated tailpiece which is rare, or individual saddles, where you would want to follow fretboard radius somewhat.  Anyhow, greybeard's advice has you covered.<br><br>Loosening the strings, being cautious, and taking extra time, definitely makes it easier on you and the equipment. 8) <br><br>And of course, as already advised, bring it up a bit if you get buzz.  Hopefully you are happy with your adjustment.]]></content:encoded>

All the way, until it starts buzzing, then back off  little. Sorry, it sounds silly, but your current setup will, to a large degree, determine how far you can go and you will only find that out by doing it.]]></content:encoded>
