                        <content:encoded><![CDATA[I looked more closely at my strat. after more than twenty years of playing I do have two screws that are darker, having lost the bright metal look. the other screws are bright, as original. the two darker screws are next to where I play with my right hand. <br>I would not say they have rusted. they are merely darker from use and grime build up.<br>if you indeed have rust; oxidation that comes off then perhaps removal is important. if, on the other hand, it is merely dirt..I would definitely not touch it.]]></content:encoded>

Sometimes they tend to get rusty from sweat and acids in ours or other players' hands, but I like chrome.  Only rarely, I seek out real vintage rusted screws, and I keep a supply of them and parts even now for projects. :shock:   <br><br>On bigger rustiers screws, I use my auto buffer, because I don't have a bench wheel.  Hang on tight or they go like bullets! <br><br>Stainless steel parts are a sure way to avoid that, available from neighboring 'states competitors Vintique and Callaham. 8)]]></content:encoded>
