Nils site is a great knowledge base for learning how to take care of your own guitars.<br><br><br>In a nutshell:<br><br>Set the neck first (using the truss rod adjustment should it need it) using the strings as your gauge.<br><br>Next, set the string height at the bridge. Check every fret for buzz. You may also run into a higher than usual fret. You'll need to dress that.<br><br>Tune it up and then set the intonation.<br><br>Play it like ya stole it. :D]]></content:encoded>

For instance, if the strings are laying in full contact with the pickups when they begin to have tension on them, then put the pickups down a bit. Then, once everything is in the general ballpark, you can fine tune the bridge and pickup height after you're done stringing the insturment.]]></content:encoded>

I have never done this before and was wondering where i should start: bridge? pickup heighth? etc..  So i was wondering if there are stock heighths that everything could be set at and then adjusted from there.  If it matters i'm using a Tune-o-matic style bridge and dimarzio pickups.<br>Thanks a lot.]]></content:encoded>
