I would sand the whole area down to bare wood. <br>you will never be able to duplicate the red stain; it is probably proprietary. you can try and match the stain. there are several gel stains in cherry and mahogany that are easy to work with. after staining you can spray a clear lacquer from a spray can over it.<br>it'll look better. it's a good first time project.]]></content:encoded>

                        <content:encoded><![CDATA[So me, being the idiot I am, accidentally stepped on my guitar. The entire headstock was ripped off. I managed to gorilla glue the whole thing back together I've been regularly playing it in a band for two months since the accident and it still works like new. But I'd like to know if there is any way I can make it look better<br><br>Here's a picture of the damage: <a href="http://i.imgur.com/aJI9z.png">http://i.imgur.com/aJI9z.png</a><br><br>All that other stuff is excess glue. I'm not too great at this kind of thing. I'd use something like nail polish but the guitar has somewhat of a unique finish.]]></content:encoded>
