my goal is to have 2 humbuckers wired with a 3-way selector and a push/pull pot that single coil taps each pickup (so 2 pots in total, 1 volume and 1 tone). does anyone know where i could get a wiring diagram for this? i found one on the seymour duncan website but i dont know what the pots are wired to do when you switch them.

That diagram might make more sense to you if you think about it upside down; it's drawn as if you are looking at the components sitting in the guitar's control cavity. So, if you're using push-pull pots (like THESE, when you pull the knobs up, the pickups will be split (one half sent to ground.) Also keep in mind the pots aren't switched when wired this way; the pots and switches are independent, so the pots still function as normal volume and tone regardless of the switch position (up or down.)

You can also use a single push-pull pot to split both pickups at the same time, as in the following diagram:
http://www.guitarelectronics.com/product/WD2HH3T11_01/Guitar_Wiring_Diagram_2_Humbuckers3Way_Toggle_Switch1_Volume0Tone001.html

A slightly different version of the Duncan diagram is here:
http://www.guitarelectronics.com/product/WD2HH3T11_02/Guitar_Wiring_Diagram_2_Humbuckers3Way_Toggle_Switch1_Volume0Tone001.html

Hope that helps.
