Normally for my tunes I try to place the bass player at around 2 o'clock in the stereo field and the main guitar at 10 o'clock because that's usually where I used to stand (as guitarist) on stage. I have the bass on the other side of the 'stage' (but close to the drums) to balance things out, then feature the voice as much as posible, but still off-center to allow the digital reverbs to bounce things, and then fill the rest in.

This one was a little different with six bass players and four guitarists. At one point the thought came to mind "I'm not mixing this for me or featuring the guitars; I'm mixing it for them, featuring the basses." :)

I might have another listen/mix with the bass parts though. The ones that are real bottom-endy I might pull back a little on the volume. I've heard a couple of your tunes that you put up, and the mixing's really sweet by the way, so as you know, if you pull the volume back on a bottomy track to even it out, unless you boost another frequency, you sorta lose definition. Some of the bass players had more middy tones, some with more treble, and some more bottom end, but for this one I didn't want to mess with the eq just to keep their original tone intact. You know, 'their' sound was the important factor.

Still, you're right, a couple do sorta jump out.
