"Long time, no see" seems way too much a cliché, but I guess there are reasons some things become cliché.

Good to hear from you again and sorry to hear you're no longer playing guitar. But it sounds like music is still a part of your life, so that's encouraging. Maybe you're interested in lessons via Skype or FaceTime?

Anyway, please feel free to pop in whenever you've a spare moment. It's always good to catch up. Hopefully there will be room for the guitar in your future.

Many have fallen by the wayside. Guitar Noise dot Com still flourishes and Mr Hodge still steering the helm with impeccable accuracy I see with a cutting edge website. Are they still stopping you from posting lessons? Musical correctness gone mad!

For us newbies it was a journey of discovery which in my case ground to a halt - scuppered along the coral reef of life and all 'things' that get in the way of pleasure.

Where is the fun and enjoyment we used to get from watching all those stiff little fingers trying to stretch along the fret board with limited success, excrutiating sounds of un-tuned and buzzing strings, not to mention the wailing that accompanied the other noises....

I just couldn't improve and didn't have the time (usual excuse) to devote to the guitar. Plus it really hurt my fingers so I went back to the keyboard. But I do miss the good old six string (of which many are strewn around the house - all out of tune).

I decided it was time to delete my YouTube videos I made of my guitar journey, but just couldn't bring myself to press the button. I then found the Stella - one of the original Rat Pack posted a video only last year so we are still alive and kicking it seems.

I still class myself as a beginner, especially as I'd have to learn again pretty much from scratch so you never know...

To the Rat Pack who probably will never read this post - I miss you all.
