my recording skills are obviously pretty poor (that is why i have resorted to using backing tracks) and it is very frustrating to not be able to record properly what i hear in my head.

what tips has anybody got for achieving a good professional sounding mix??

the song is about a woman who struggles to cope with the fact that her husband died cheating on her (morbid i know) - its a strange song but i would really love some advice/comments on the lead guitar - although there is a lot of room for improvement i would like to think it is an improvement from my first solo attempt - both are found at this link
