I was monitoring thru an old set of Roland MA-20's. Like listening to a coffee can. I had to get rid of them but all I had to replace them were an old bookshelf stereo. They still aren't that great but much better than the Rolands if you can believe it. So I'm in the hunt for some active monitors. Looks like I'll have to do some saving and research. I'm thinking HR624's.

I'm still not satisfied but neither am I able to put the time in to make it perfect in my own mind. It was the verb I was using that caused that odd resonance.

Leaving you wanting more is not a bad thing in my mind. Re. the vox: I couldn't bare to hear more of my vox. That was my limit. Your opinion is appreciated and valued. Thank you.

The only thing wrong with your voice in this song is that there's a lot of energy around 600 and 1000 Hertz that's introducing a little mud into the mix. The performance itself is killer!

Here's something for you to try: Load the song into your mp3 player ( I use Winamp ), pull up the graphic EQ, set it so it's not boosting or cutting anything ( flat ) and listen to the song. Then pull the sliders for 600Hz and 1000Hz down enough to give you a 2 or 3 db cut at those freqs. Listen again and take note of: A) how the vocals pop right up where they belong, and B) just how fershlugginer GOOD the performance IS!

It's your voice. It's your song. It's not a "perfect" voice (whatever you conceive that to be ). But the fact is, the only voice that will ever be perfect for YOUR songs, is YOUR voice. Let it be heard.
