well, I suppose my choir experience could help you a bit

first off, I think you need some basic singing practice, it's not hard, and it will gice you a lot of confidence in your voice, then emotion will come in hand,

setting is important, you can do singing exercises in an unfocused state for 2 hours and gain nothing, 5 minutes of pure focus for a few days will be enough to gain the confidence I mentioned earlier. Try turning off the lights in the room(if that's not a problem for playing guitar) and play a note on the guitar which is within you range, it sounds to me like you'd be really comftorable on the 8th to 12th fret of the E string, let the note ring out and mimick it with your voice, saying "ooh", or "ah" while you're doing it. Then, whenever you're comftorable, go up a fret or two, and mimick the guitar with your voice again. Play around with this. Then you can try doing the same thing with your voice alone, and you can use your guitar to check how accurate your pitch is. That's a good one, and if you know a major scale, try mimicking that too

if you want any more advice, I've got a lot of other tricks, which are mostly much more fun than that, just rop me an e-mail
happy singing :D

Not sure how you recorded this, it sounds to me like you were playing and singing at the same time? If this is the case, try recording the guitar first then playing it back through headphones to sing over it........that's if you have multi-tracking capability - if not, try audacity - there are several links posted to it on the "Freebie and Give-aways" forum......

Vic.

PS I'm not good at criticising other peoples voices, because mine always sounds different when played back......sounds different to me....I sound even worse on tape!!! But yeah, you need to put more emotion into it somehow.....try singing more from the diaphragm........
