This one took work, lots of it, and it also coincided with some ear/Temporal Bone surgery recovery where sometimes even talking hurt. dogbite was more than patient. The funniest thing about it all is that I do not hear that voice when I speak. I'll scold the dogs about something and my wife will fake a very deep voice, jokingly imitating me. What I hear where I speak is sharp notes in higher pitches. I'm always stunned when I hear my recorded voice. It's so booming. In my mind, I am a soft speaker.

I'm also working on singing in the style of David Gilmour, Richard Wright, Keith Richards and, get this, Neil Young. The gilmour/Wright stuff is coming along. I've actually got a poor backing track put together of Shine On and a better one for Comfortably Numb. Lots of cleaning up to do on each, but there are both guitar parts and vocal parts that I am quite proud of. My toughest critic even said some of it is beginning to sound good.

Too bad I suck at Mick Jagger, Bowie, Stewert, Plant, etc. It's not copying I'm after, it's capturing the accent and vocal inflections that I'm after.
