hey Wes, thanks for commenting. Two things I noticed last year were:

1) I never agree with criticism when people tell me, and
2) I often agree with the same criticism a few months later.

So I decided that this year I'll make a little notepad of the comments I get, and I won't 'finish' projects as soon I used to do. All effects are digital and post-recording, so I can open whatever project and change the reverb level within a few seconds. Right now I dont know what I'll do but I'll definitely be thinking about your suggestion. Thanks!

Btw, poppetjeswereld is really a sketch, not that you'll notice but the first 'verse' is IMHO really great and the second really sucks, so something has to change. Will probably change the structure to make things fit as well, we'll see. :)

Arjen

I liked both songs. Your songs always have an upbeat feel to them that makes them enjoyable to listen to. The second song with the water, laughs, and bird-songs was very Beatle like. I liked the keyboards on the first song very much.

Now for a negative. This is just my personal opinion, and I respect that a person should record a song the way they like, but I have noticed you always puts lots of reverb on your voice. To me, this makes the vocals sound seperated from the rest of the music. I was told this advice by a experienced soundperson many years ago regarding vocal effects... "If you can hear the effect it is too much". Reverb is always good on vocals, but too much sounds artificial. So that is my 2 cents.
