Thanks for your encouraging comments. It's a weird experience listening to yourself sing, especially for the first time. I have a very limited vocal range so I'm having to pick songs that a) are easy to learn to play, and b) I reckon I can sing within my range.

As my guitar playing progresses and I have to think less about the strings, I can hopefully develop a greater vocal range, but at the moment I'm playing safe.

I'm also aware that I want to develop my own style of vocals rather than copying another artist. I have a number of favourite singer/songwriters at the moment - all very talented musicians in my book, but they all have individual sounds and I think it's exactly that which gives such diversity to music.

I'll be covering a few more tracks before venturing out and writing some music to fit my own lyrics - I think I'll learn a lot about composition like that.

I also gave you a listen, and I've got to say that you're coming along nicely! You're right, it is hard, in the beginning, to be able to split your brain and focus on two things at once (playing and singing), but, the more you do it, the easier it becomes. You're definitely on the right track, so just keep on doing what you've been doing, and, before long, it'll feel like second nature!

Here's the moment you've all been waiting for...well, maybe not ALL of you, well...maybe none of you, but here it is anyway, my first EVER recording of my dulcet tones accompanying my wonderful string picking.... :lol:

I tell you this, anyone who is learning to sing and play at the same time gets a big 'thumbs up' from me because it takes a lot of work to keep both ends going at the same time - and in the correct order... :roll:
