Your groove is fine. I listen to another of your tracks and your rhythm is fine. I think it was playing with this backing track that really threw you off. If you were in a lesson with anyone I know, the first thing they would say is "you're not counting.". Is it that important? YES! Rhythm being a primary component of what most people recognize as music. I'd dare say it is a fundamental that any aspiring musician should be in tune with.

To me though it felt like you were ahead of the beat. (Not to be confused with another thread ;))

I also agree with Nuno that the drum beat was too complex and overall the tempo may be a hair (oops, you may not understand that term :lol: ) too quick for many players who might enjoy your BT.

Just some observations from another newb.
