I've tried altering the way I sing . . . do folks reckon this sounds better or worse? I think I'm flat on a few notes still though. :oops:

Ok, the playing is great (as usual) :evil: and the singing is clearer and smoother, yup you've got the tonal range ok for this, but you're still having a few problems separating the song from the rhythm so you start singing words with the beats (I do this as well, so I think it must be one of those learning things), we'll just having keep practising :roll:

My ears tell me that you need to slow the vocals down a bit - you sound a little bit hurried in getting the words out. Could always try Jack Daniels instead of Timothy Taylor I suppose... :wink:

Sounds good and not having the video camera watching your every move and grimace must certainly help.

If you were flat, I didn't hear it. I thought you were hitting the notes just fine.
With more confidence (which will come with practice) you'll build up the strength of your voice and be belting out the that tune.
Work on the more confidence and more belting! :D
(Good idea to use the beer but don't use it as a crutch to boost your confidence)

Yeah I shall keep at it. I've been recording any dabblings I've been doing so I can keep tabs on not just this particular song, but my singing in general. I am seeing small improvements in other songs too, even though I'm not working at them as much. Methinks I am slowly (very!) but surely learning to sing. :D

Guitar is sounding beautiful and clean. I know the problems you're having with the singing and playing because I'm in exactly the same situation, although your playing is a hundred times better than mine.

I find that I start singing to the beat of the music rather than singing with the music and then when you think about that, you start to play the tune to the vocals... back and forth. Because I'm doing the same thing I can listen to you playing and singing and know exactly when that is happening - quite reassuring really... :wink:

You voice sounds nervous because you're concentrating so much. It sounds like you've got the tune ok and shouldn't need to concentrate on the playing, just the singing so loosen up a bit - I think someone has mentioned that you need to get your voice a little higher, but you're suppose to sing at your own natural range - hey, what do I know - I've just read it :roll:
