Yes I recall - your daughter is a Police Officer too, very tough job, and a young mother and widow. It couldn't be much harder, and I have brought their needs before the highest power, and asked for strength for them to carry on.

Your song is very appropriate, and from the heart. In fact I was hearing it as elevator music this week, without Eric Clapton or lyrics, and I thought... man I wouldn't be hearing these sounds now, if he hadn't experienced his tragic loss.

Life can throw out some very sudden and strange 'hardballs' and it seems we have to catch them, and instead of stuffing them in a sack, or whipping them at someone else, we can bring them back to where they came from, or deal with whatever pitched them, discuss or discover solutions, heal and go on to love.

I cant think of anything more special than a daughter or a grandchild.

Your song has great sentiment and feeling, and I like Rock a Bye too.

For the future, I feel that there could be (not sure, but a strong hunch) some "Sixpence None the Richer" songs, or anything sung by Leigh Nash, though she is a woman, and maybe soprano? (highest vocal range using scientific pitch notation, where middle C = C4) from approximately middle C (C4) to "high A" (A5) in choral music, or to "soprano C" (C6). Anyhow, guys sang it in a rock version for Disney's Final Fantasy.

I'm a music junkie, though I don't know them all, but think that some of her compositions in "Blue on Blue" and with "Fauxliage" would also be a challenge worth taking, and be both satisfying and cathartic. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Leigh_Nash on her own http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5iUCh30tgDI

I couldn't determine which video had the best sound and appropriate pics, so settled for the true original, though it is very cool how they played it live in Croatia or somewhere like that. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3YcNzHOBmk8

Also Dawson's Creek Music, and all the related stuff on the side is pretty good to explore, I think? http://www.youtube.com/watch#!v=LzzwfsJ5z58&feature=related

Tomorrow is my Grandaughter Olivia's 3rd birthday. She lives in Florida ..... I live in New York. I'll see her next month, that isn't the problem. 11 months ago she lost her daddy. People who are regulars here might remember the post where I fessed up to my family's grief. He was a police officer. What does she want for her birthday? Her daddy of course! I can't do that. I am plannig to spoil her beyond belief next month when I get there, but what can I do on line on her birthday? I wanted to sing to her. I just learned this since last night, so not well rehersed. I can't sing to save my life so I don't want critisism, just your ear. This is a Grampa singing to his sweet little blond curley haired grandaughter telling her every thing will be all right. Yeah, Sean Mullins Rock a Bye did come to mind. Here it is ... imperfect as it may be. It was very hard to not cry while I was singing.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NsWWS1BdL3k
