I can totally hear this song going into Purple Haze ;)

Thanks bud! You are the reason I re-recorded. You were right on about all of my slides. All though, in my head I am starting to hear a slide (just one) at "and the land of the free" (vibrato on free then slide). Then into, "and the home of the brave".

What do ya think? Do you hear it?

Well, I learned the last part, so I could see how it would work.

Two ways I could see you fitting a slide in there (I'm assuming this is how you're playing it, I could be wrong)

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
-----------2--4/6/7/9-* /14/16/18/19 (heavy vibrato)-19 16 14----------
---2-2-2------------------------------------------------------------------------
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

or

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
-----------2--4/6/7/9-* 2-4/6/7 (heavy vibrato) 7-42--------
---2-2-2------------------------------------------------------------------------
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

sorry if that is really hard to read. The *'s are where it starts to get different. Theres a lot of slides in there actually, but I think they all fit.

The jets do sound really intense by the way, awesome stuff.

I play it-

V heavy vibrato into slide (i was thinking)
E--------------------------1v----------------------
B--------------1--3-4--------------------------
G---------3-------------------------------------
D--3-3-3-------------------------------------------

Ending

E---------------------------------------------
B---------1----3---4---1----------------------
G----3----------------------3v---------------------

Where did you get your tab?

-----------Edit----------

I just played it like this and it sound pretty cool. What do ya think? This is for the first part that was in my code.

G--------------3---5--57---8--910v----------
D---3--3--3-----------------------------------

Ending

G-----3----5---5/7---8---5----3v---------

It sounds like all the notes are correct. I like it. :D

I think we have something here, Taso. What do ya think?

-----Edit again----

I re-recorded it! Here it is, Star Spangled Banner. What do you think? :D

Sounds good man, sounds good.

Are you using a different tuning? Maybe down a step? Cause I definitly hear EEE A B C# D E and not FFF Bb etc.

Either way, it works, sounds good.

Yeah, all my guitars are tuned to Eb.

I have to say, I am really happy with this recording and the slightly different way of playing it. I had a long couple of days at work and this put me past cloud 9!

Thanks Taso for helping me out. That tab you had got me thinkin'. Thanks!

Wow, that's a loud recording. I had Windows Media Player turned up a little and got blasted! :D

I like this version as well. Nice tone. I like the longer slower pick slide.

One criticism (and I hope you take this constructively, that's how it's meant).

The song is a little rushed all the way through. Just a little. Slow the tempo. It is a slow song. Think of how impatient people get at sports events waiting for the song to get over so the game can start. :D
Well, play it like that. Play it slow.

But it's good. And this is a tough song. Good work.

Keep this recording, but try recording a slower version. Sustain those notes the way Hendrix did at Woodstock. Then it will be killer!

Wes,

I understandstand what you are saying. Trust me, I can take criticism. Thats why I am posting stuff as, "What do ya think?" I'm not posting it as, "this is what it is and what it will always be". I'll have to work on that input issue as well. But, then again, this SHOULD be played LOUD!!!

I've been playing for just under a year and a half and this is the only place I go on the net and it's the only place I will ever go to get some great feedback!!!!

Constructive criticism, bring it on, I need it. You (Wes) and Taso have been very helpfull with this recording and I can't thank you guys enough!!!!!

I am starting to agree with you on, this is a tough song. I thought it was easy but, there is SO much emotion involved with it that I guess I was rushing a bit.

I keep putting my best foot forward (which involves multiple takes  o.k. o.k. many many takes) and it never seams to fail, I play it all the way through with not mistakes, THEN I hit record  . Hopefully this stupid red button will help me at some point.

Again thank you guys for listening and posting great and helpfull advise.

Only been playing guitar a year and a half? Then you are doing great. It takes a long time to get lead guitar down.

Don't worry about the volume. Most songs have very low volume and so I have the Media Player cranked up. Once I turned it down a little it was fine.

Keep recording. Recording is excellent practice because you have to get everything perfect. It is much more difficult than playing live.

Yeah, I am always a little reluctant to criticize people's work. You never know when you might hurt someone's feelings. I think it is terrific that you have a good attitude and enjoy constructive criticism.

You are doing great. Keep it up! 8)
