                        <content:encoded><![CDATA[I haven't done any "serious" home recording since my Fostex X-15 four-track cassette recorder died, about 15 years ago.  Now, at last, I have the space and equipment to get started again, this time in a digital format.  The gear is nothing special.  I have some familiarity with Audacity, and it seems just fine, and I'm looking closely at the recommendations in this forum's sticky thread.  I also however have a full Cakewalk 6.0 kit I found at a yard sale (five bux) -- obsolete, yes, but my computer will run it just fine.  How do the two programs match up?  Which has the edge in terms of learning curve vs. recording capabilities?  <br><br>What's the better option, and why?]]></content:encoded>
