They sound great and are very reliable. As for their tube amps, I haven't play for any lenght of time on one, I did get a chance to check out a vintage 33 for about an hour which was very impressive, either the Nomad or Vinage 33 would also be worth looking into. Their 33 watts is still loud.

The one your thinking about would give you plenty of sound and tone to work with.

Joe

The search for tube tone has been narrowed down to either a Marshall DSl combo or this one, the Carvin Bel Air 212

go here for specs: http://www.carvin.com/products/single.php?ItemNumber=212BELAIR&CID=GA

Click the link towards the bottom of the page to hear samples

One problem: Like all Carvin stuff, you have to order it direct. Which is both a blessing and a curse, since you save a pile of money but have to send it back if you don't like it, which is an obvious hassle. I think its just the ticket.....well, as much as I can tell without having tried it. Ratings have been great overall. It sounds like a great classic rock and blues amp, which is what I'm looking for. Marshall is just too expensive. I think I'm going to go with this one.

Comments?

Matt
