He is the tube and tube amp god!! He works for Groove tubes and even puts out a tube primer in pdf format of guys who want to know more about what different tubes and tube brands do as far as tone, output, distortion breakover etc.  He is a great guy and is willing to help and and all that ask. i know cause I got a Carvin X-100B too and cause of him I went with a matched quad of Groove Tube EL-34's. But he will tell you what will work best for your setup regardless of brand. (He doesn't just recommend his company's brand). Sorry for the long winded reply hope it helps tho.
