thinkmad

Did you check the rear panel of that amp? I went to the Crate amplifier site. You can go to Support, then Manuals. I couldn't find the manual for the model you mentioned. The closest I could find was the GX-65. The manual for this amp said the fuse is located on the rear panel. You may see a cap. If so, just turn that and the fuse should pop out. Make sure to replace with the proper fuse.

If the amp is open backed, the fuse holder may be underneath the rear panel. But it is usually accessable without going inside the amp. If you are not sure of the proper fuse, go to Crate and send them an e-mail. I'm sure they will be glad to help you.

Crate Amplifiers

Like Joe said, be careful messing around inside an amp. You can get shocked.

You could always take a look inside and see if anything looks loose, burned, bad solder joints. Use a wooden pencil if you decide to probe around and beware the capacitors can put a real bad hurt on you. They really should be discharged first.

Joe
