I still use the RW-1 from time to time.<br><br>Maybe take a look at Yamaha 860 powered mixer, they have three 200 watt power amps which would allow you to run different combinations of mains and monitors.                         <content:encoded><![CDATA[<br><br><br>I finally plunked down the money to get a more suitable amp to use with my Roland VG-88 multieffects unit.<br><br><a href="http://www.musiciansfriend.com/srs7/sid=031103135843012026200121063891/g=home/search/detail/base_id/42783">http://www.musiciansfriend.com/srs7/sid=031103135843012026200121063891/g=home/search/detail/base_id/42783</a><br><br>The VG does all the amp effects modeling so an amp with that stuff is unnecessary.  I had been using my bass amp with a closed back and gave it a more bass-ie sound as you'd expect.<br><br>The reviews for the  Tech 21 Power Engine<br><br><a href="http://www.musiciansfriend.com/srs7/sid=031103135843012026200121063891/g=guitar/search/detail/base_id/49201">http://www.musiciansfriend.com/srs7/sid=031103135843012026200121063891/g=guitar/search/detail/base_id/49201</a><br><br>were almost all positive for people who used Roland processors like mine so I plunked down my $300 and a retailer shipped it to me from New York.  I hooked it up and it seemed like a very clean amp.  It only has volume, low, mid, and high adjust.  That's it.  Four dials.  It's funny that this amp is really an extension cabinet so it has those 3 dials on the back that make it quite impractical to adjust the volume (My amp sits on my huge desk at about chest high with the back of the amp about an inch from the wall).  And the dials for those controls are really small.  For children fingers I guess.<br><br>So Friday night I get it rocking (had it on like 1 out of 10 â€“ barely on at all) and it was extremely loud.  My roommate even said it was kinda loud.  I even thought it was too loud but I could only turn the volume like off or barely on which was still too loud.<br><br>Anyway, it sounded good except I noticed when I put my guitar down for the night there was a constant buzz.  Yea, weird, but an audible buzz.  I've read lots of post that have buzz caused from playing a Fender with fluorescent lighting.  Nope, I play a SG.  Besides, I unplugged everything from the amp and it still would have a constant buzz when turned on.  I take it into another room to see if it's the room or outlet.  Nope, same deal.  I drive 20 miles out to my Father's place and test it, same deal.  So it's definitely something wrong specifically with that amp.  So I guess it's going back to NY.<br><br>After thinking about it for a couple of days I'm thinking of returning that one in exchange for another amp.  Well, either way it's going back because it's defective.  A month or two ago I went to a local Sam Ash with my processor to test Roland's keyboard amps.  Yea, I know you're thinking â€œare you nuts?  Use a guitar amp!  But keyboard amps are totally neutral and would reproduce exactly what the processor feeds it.  Whoops, I gotta get back on track.<br><br>I played a Roland KC150 <br><br><a href="http://www.musiciansfriend.com/srs7/sid=031103135843012026200121063891/g=guitar/search/detail/base_id/107050">http://www.musiciansfriend.com/srs7/sid=031103135843012026200121063891/g=guitar/search/detail/base_id/107050</a><br><br>and a higher wattage/bigger speaker KC350.  They were cool because they seemed to bring out the stuff I couldn't hear through my bass amp.  But they have a regular speaker and a tiny tweeter like home speakers.  That little tweeter made lots of the presets on the processor sound pretty sharp/shrill.  I'll assume there is a crossover in the amp that says â€œsend any sound over 3,000 hertz to the tweeter.â€  I wonder if anyone knows if it's possible to get an amp like that and have all the sound frequency just go to the woofer and totally bypass the tweeter?  And do you think it would sound good?<br><br>It's so bizarre that my processor can sound so dang good when the sound is run to headphones.  Everything is incredible.  Then when it goes to an amp it doesn't sound nearly as good and lots of the effects can't be heard.  Oh well, let me know if you have an answer to the question above, comments, or suggestions.  Thanks in advance!<br><br> :(<br><br><br>]]></content:encoded>
