Just snip off the speaker leads in your Princeton (doesn't work anyway), solder the wires and connect the jack and you are good to go.

I am thinking about ordering one of those 12" cabs for my Valve Junior. I swapped the Eminence 8 ohm 12" in my HRD for a Celestion a few months back, I could put it in one of those cabs. Looking at the pics they looked pretty nice and I read a few reviews which were good also. That would be a perfect pick-up-and-go setup for this head, just right for the Open Mic.

The kits looked OK too.

I took an alternate route to the jack problem. I have a crate modeling amp that quit working. Not sure of the problem right now, don't really care right now, cause I haven't liked that amp for a while. It did however have a 12" 4ohm speaker in the cab. I also recently had a very old Boss SD-1 distortion pedal quit working. So, I took the input jack out of the SD-1 and "kind of" attached it to the back of the "Crate open back" cab I now have. Now I have a working 4 ohm Crate extension cab for my Epi Valve jr. head in addition to the Line6 Flex III 8ohm extension cab. In addition, I can try to use the metal housing for the kaput SD-1 for an effects pedal project in the near future. "Work with what ya got!"

A bit of a Radio Shack warning. I recently need a pretty specialized hard drive power connector for upgrading my Tivo with a new hard drive. Online said the store in the mall near my work had it, so I went by on my lunch break. Turns out they didn't. The guy in the store said they had taken all the speciality stuff out of the mall stores. All the capacitors, resistors, etc that they are known for are no longer in the mall stores. He looked it up on their internal computer system and saw that one in a shopping center on my way home had it. That store still had all the little gadgets, as well.

FWIW....

And, another thing: It wasn't that long ago that you could go into a Radio Shack and assume that you'd have someone help you that actually knew that little weirdo part you were looking for actually did and/or looked like. Now it's always a group of clueless college kids, and I understand that. It's just frustrating when you tell them what you need and all you get is a blank stare of non-recognition.

What I'm doing is hooking the head up to a speaker in my Fender deluxe amp, but still want to use the amp as is whenever the want arises. To that end I am installing a 1/4" female guitar jack on the back of the amp. This jack will be wired to the existing speaker wires from the amp. Then I am connecting the speaker with spade connectors to a 3 foot piece of speaker wire with a 1/4" male mono plug on the other end. This 1/4 " male plug can be either plugged into the female adapter just installed on the amp to use the fender as is or can be plugged into the epi head in the appropriate ohm rated space, in this case the 4 ohm jack..there should be jacks for 4, 8 and 16 ohms. These connectors are available almost anywhere. I happened to buy mine at my local music store but any radioshack etc should have them.
Robbie
