                        <content:encoded><![CDATA[I finally got tubes for the Epi Valve Special today. All I could afford for now were two 12AX7's, the EL84 needs to be replaced as well. The old tubes were Russian Sovtec 12AX7WA's. The new ones are Groove tube Gold Series 12AX7R's. The new tubes are much less muddy, and are a little bit brighter. After letting them break in with standby on, and then slowly turning up the gain, these things really gave this amp a little more life. I don't know how they would sound compared to the JJ's, but these work much better than the stock tubes, even when the Sovtec's were fresh. If I might add, the new Groove Tubes give a litle less hum and buzz. They get my thumbs up!]]></content:encoded>
