A crowded circuit layout (like the Pignose G40V, one of which I have) can introduce hum problems. (The Pignose is a serious hummer.) <br><br>I've looked at those Johnson amps online, and they do sound attractive, but I don't know anyone who has one. <br><br>The Chinese are making swift progress on building better quality stuff, still at very low prices.]]></content:encoded>

                        <content:encoded><![CDATA[I've only seen the review on Harmony Central.  If that's correct, they actually use decent tubes (Sovtek and EH).  And the XLR and headphone jacks are great features!  <br><br>Question:  considering that it's all-tube, and assuming the tubes are good quality, can it still be bad?
It can use really cheap components (like capacitors) that will affect the sound quality, but valves can always be replaced by better ones, so I don't think that it can be all bad.  :)]]></content:encoded>

                        <content:encoded><![CDATA[I came across a Johnson all-valve amp today. I've heard of them before, but never seen one (they don't seem to make it to this side of the pond, too often). <br>It's 25W, single channel, with 10" speaker, Accutronics spring reverb and XLR line-out.
