Hi,

I'm basically wanting to create an effects loop that begins with two-four distortion pedals all looped in parallel so that I can use any two at once. Sounds easy enough, but I've never dealt with a parallel effects setup enough to know how-to do this without getting any signal loss through a bad y-jack or etcetera.

I'm unsure of how-to do this. Whether I should get a DI-box with a splitter/joiner, or whether I should just get a couple of y-jacks (though it seems that signal loss is implied with a y-jack once half the signal goes, instead of simply using the remaining signal 100%). Perhaps I'm using cheap y-jacks, but that seems to be the case no matter which kind I've used. On the other hand, I'm not sure if a $40 splitter/joiner is really worth what I want to do, seeing as how most are simply 2-channels as opposed to 3-4.

Would I be better off custom-building one myself? Or is there a y-jack out there that, well, frankly, doesn't kill the signal if it's not being given 100% from both lines?

I'm at a loss. Any help would be much appreciated, even if it's simply 'build your own!' ;)

Bryce
