Really, the main considerations are size (will it fit my cabinet? Will I have to drill holes, that might ruin the front cover?) and impedance (what is the rating of the current speaker?). It must also be rated for, at least, the output (Watts) of oyur amp.
You then have to worry about what the new speaker is going to sound like partnered up to your amp - a 12" celestion will sound different hooked up to a 10W SS amp than hooked up to a 100W tube amp. Some manufacturers actually have the speaker tailored to the amp, particularly with small amps/speakers.

Replacement is a doddle - unsolder the 2 cables attached to the back of the old speaker, replace it with the new speaker and connect up the two wires.

You have to take some of the reviews on Harmony Central with a pinch of salt. Read through something with lots of reviews and you will see everything from the "greatest thing since sliced bread" to "biggest load of garbage ever produced". The problem that you will face is the uncertainty of which speaker to use, to get the sound YOU want (not what a total stranger reckons is HIS dream sound) - Celestion, Eminence, Jensen or something else? Will any one of those give you the sound that you are looking for and how are you going to find out, without buying one of each? You are looking at just one and a cheap one at that - I think speakers is probably one area that you get what you pay for, although Celestion is generally good. Will that speaker sound better to you?

Sorry to pour a bit of cold water on your idea, but it is something that you should consider carefully, before spending money. Apart from which,, you will void any warranty by changing the speaker.

Please tell us what you decide and how it goes/went
