Hi all,

I've been slowly learning to play bass over the past year on my dinky Peavy MicroBass (with its overwhelming 20 watts of power ;)) and now I'm feeling ready to play at some small gigs. Does anyone have a suggestion for a good lower-end bass amp? I don't expect to be in front of more than a couple hundred people max, and I'm hoping to keep the price under $500. I play mainly rock, running the gamut from fairly light indie-rock and acoustic type stuff to metal and street punk depending on who I'm jamming with, so I'm interested in a good range of possible "sounds". My bass is a Fender P-bass.

So far, the Peavey TNT115, Ampeg Bass Amp (BA) series and the Hartke Kickback series are looking pretty good, although I've heard some people say Peavey has a bad reputation (which hasn't been my experience, my MicroBass is great for what it is...). Does anyone have any suggestions? Are these pretty decent amps, or is there something else I should consider? Thanks a lot for any help!
