Sorry this is a bit late...

Somehow, I learned about a concert series that was giving the proceeds to a fund for displaced musicians from New Orleans. There were several artists and venues and dates, and all the tickets were first or second row. It was co-sponsored by Ticketmaster and Gibson guitars. In many cases, a Epiphone guitar signed by one or more of the artists would also be awarded.

http://www.ticketmaster.com/musicrisingauctions

The most appealing concert for us was Chicago (with Huey Lewis) in nearby Hartford. It was set up as an auction, and we won.

We have been to many concerts, but this is the first time that we've ever been "inside" the PA. It was great to look for the little things (Bobby Lamm playing a 12-string - that only had 6 strings!). Huey was great - very energetic - and Chicago was fantastic too. Jimmy Pankow is wild! Also noticed that everyone is getting older...

And yesterday, an Epiphone LP-100 arrived, signed by all 8 members of Chicago! Too cool.

The tickets were too expensive, but at least the excess money goes to a good cause. And the guitar has extra value.

-Laz
