Thanks Vic and Nuno.
How did you learn to do that kind of thing (writing sound tracks to film)? How did you get involved in this kind of project? Inquiring minds want to know :D

Long story and the hand of luck as in all this things is always present. Just to say that previously on two othe Films we had even gotten to the contract stage and they both fell flat at the last minute. Main thing is to keep a good site where people can easily go to your music and yes I think it has to look reasonably professional. Hence I use Broadjam sure it costs but you have to invest a little as people are not going to rummage through certain sites. Had a contact from someone looking for music for a Film project. Sent my site details and almost a week later I heard back from Tim Young the Producer. He didn't like the tracks I proposed for the Film but wanted Sanctuary, now that was the lucky part because he took the time to listen to all my tracks and most producers wouldn't.

The question was then posed could I compose to footage if he sent it to me? I said yes although I had never ever done it before but as I am motivated by images I thought i could. Bottom line I loaded the film into my sequencer and composed in real time based on what the images were giving me.

In a word my friend LUCK and although i work damn hard at recording material without the LUCK factor this would not have happened. I also think with one lucky contact or break you start getting more possible leads and contacts. Without that I don't care how good your music is it can sit on a web site along with a million others and do nothing.

The next stroke of LUCK will be what happens in Austin because if Good Riddance gets picked up on then according to my Publisher the phones start ringing. I have to admit that I really do take it all with a pinch of salt in terms of what will be will be. It's so easy to get all hyped up and find that something all falls flat, having been there before. Great for the odd day dream or two though LOL

I really do make music because I enjoy it and I hope nothing will change that although I am aware that once business get's involved the pressures go up and the enjoyment can go down. Be nice to earn some cash from music but certainly not to change my life style and attitude towards it. Maybe I'm getting old LOL

Gerry
