Well, to update. It had become apparent lately, that one of the guitarist could not make practices on a regular basis. He always had a good reason, but its hard to practice when someone wont show up. So yesterday, we made a common decision that he wont play for us anymore.

Thats not really a bad thing. When me and the two remaining guys played together it came across very melodic. The volumes were about right, the timing was great, and everything just kind of flowed. But with the other guy we were constantly battling tuning issues, volume issue, and since he wasnt showing up consistantly we would have to spend the whole time showing him how to play his part.

This is probably be the last post in the My Red Dirt country band thread though because the remaining three of us arent into that type of music much. We are discussing what type of music to do from here on out. One option being floated around is Praise and Worship, which is a style I have a ton of passion for and it is obviously my first choice.

Thanks for all the support in this thread.
Man, things are rolling along quite well. We picked up a second (Third if you include me) guitarist yesterday. He has been playing quite a long time and last year he gave me a copy of his current bands CD. So I sent him a link to my current songs and he likes where me and our red dirt band are going.

The thing I like is that each of us bring something equal and different to the band outside of our musical talents (Feels weird saying that). I am a decent writer and administrator. Keeping everyone on the same page. The bassist used to work a job where he set up PA equipment for live bands that would come through our city. The new guitarist has alot of the equipment we were missing; PA system, drum machine, recording equipment, etc. The original guitarist has connections with local clubs, local bands, and even some national acts.

We are about halfway through our first set list (of four) and have one original to our name.

We keep plugging along. :D

Geoo
