I was thinking to buy an uke these days. I am subscribed to the channel of a uke's teacher in youtube and also I remember your recordings and comments. Tomorrow I want to go to my guitar store, I need new strings. I'll ask by ukes. here are a couple pics of my uke repair. the flame painted uke, a Harmony, has a dark fret board. it 's body has a few cracks;
I wanted the fretboard.
the other uke is my main uke. it is a Harmony Roy Smek model. same plastic fretboard.
the photos show the fret boards switched. you can see the crack on the red colored board.
I think the red board worked better with the plain mahogany uke, but the switch does not bother me.
teh old Harmony that's cracked has very nice tuners and bridge.
