Let me know when the final date is set, and I'll see if i can work out some vacation time around it.

I'm about an hour & a half north of Chicago - depending on traffic - straight down I-90. John (Reichart) is a wonderful photographer, and his pix are much nicer!

David, we'd love a set, when you have time. No hurry though, you've a lot on your plate.

Dan, Riverside Jam started as a college band reunion. More or less. We figured that there is a river just about anywhere, hence, a good title. It's been going since 2000 and as David says, the host sets up the rules for each individual jam, on the theory that the host is doing a lot of the leg work, so he/she gets to decide what's up. So hope to see you in the Berkshires....
The current Chicago crowd is alot of fun to play with as well. Not to confuse you more, but Chicago is the place where the original RJ group first met each other.

Best,
Laura

Hi Dan

The Riverside Jam is kind of strange in that the "rules" are usually set up by whoever is hosting that particular year. A lot of things depend on the time involved in planning, the venues where the gigs are being played and other things that are hard to even explain. If you've ever tried to plan a six year old's birthday party (which I have to say is something I've never done), then you probably have a good idea as to what this vague explanation means.

That being said, I am hosting Riverside Jam 2007, being held here in Berkshire County, Massachusetts. More likely than not, it will be the first full weekend of August. The way things are shaping up, we may have "events" going on the entire week. Consider this your invitation.

Also, how close is Janesville from Chicago? A lot of the folks involved in Riverside hail from the Chicagoland area and I try to get out there at least a few times each year to jam. Let me know if that's something you'd like to participate in and I'll keep you updated on any news.

Peace

Are these Riverside Jams private/invite only, or are they open to anyone? Looking at the pics, looks like a blast. I've never seen any notifications as to when these jams are coming up, (maybe I missed it?), and Minneaplois isn't that far from me. Just wondering, as they look like alot of fun.

Dan
