The worst (or possibly best, depending on your perspective :lol: ) part is that the frequency range I'm the most deficient in also happens to be right around the level of my wife's voice. It's a constant source of frustration for both of us, because I'm always making her repeat herself.

Hearing loss is definitely no joke, especially for a musician. I'm probably going to leave the Navy with a partial disability because of mine. I've stopped using earbuds, and my various music players arent nearly at the volume they once were.

Apparently, permanent hearing damage starts at sustained levels of 80db, and (also apparently) an iPod can churn out more than that when it's focussed into those little earphones. Can't remember where I read that though.
