I am sure Stones would have played a lot of guitar in this movie.
Speak on brother Vic!!!!
I could never understand the debate. They didn't do the same things. Well, some blues maybe, but that's about it.
I was OK with the late 70's stuff, but the mid 80's kind of disappointed me. Undercover and Dirty Work. Ugh! Except for that period, they've done some really good stuff.

I love 'em both - but if they were both in town on the same night, and I had to pick a gig to go to, it'd be the Stones.....

Hmm... it's a film about the Stones in concert so, d'ya think?!

Now, now.
So why the movie title, Shine a Light?
Are they getting another prostate exam or what?
What's with that, huh?
So what do you get when you shine a light on a rolling stone?
Light rock?

It's the rock that gives the stream its music . . . and the stream that gives the rock its roll.
Zep vs. Stones? It was always Beatles vs. Stones where/when I grew up. I don't think it really matters, as they've all got places in the pantheon of music. Now in a fight, my money's on the Who ... assuming we can resurrect everyone required.
I can never recall the correct order of this but ...
Who fans beat up Stones fans; Stones fans beat up Zep fans; everybody beats up Journey fans.

That would be a German with a Mexican accent then? (Sorry, couldn't resist!)
Hmmm - the guitar in that youtube link looks kinda familiar.......
Now all I need is a few wrinkles - curse these youthful good looks!

You know, with all the emphasis on relicked guitars, they're overlooking the need to relic guitarists.

Another reason they call it an axe?
Did you see the windup on that swing?
Whoa!

Not sure I know what relicking is but I can guess
and if I'm right I would say that Keith Richard's face needs a lot of relickin'
OMG, I am so mean. (Fem rxn)

Plenty of relic guitarists around here - who grew up as kids in the 60's, teenagers in the 70's, married and settled down in the 80's, divorced in the 90's, took up guitar - again - in the 00's.....and this time, with the benefits of experience and accrued wisdom, actually WORKED at it......well that's my story anyway!

I'm right with you there, except for the divorce part.
Where is that spackle, anyway?

So why the movie title, Shine a Light?
"Shine A Light" is a track on the album "Exiles On Main Street" and features in the soundtrack of the film.
BTW, Mick Jagger joked that "Shine A Light" is probably the only Scorsese film that DOESN'T feature "Gimme Shelter" on the soundtrack.......
