[#30236]

I thought that title might get your attention.

I wanted to share something that I found totally mind boggling yet thoroughly dangerous and foolhardy...along with a dozen or more adjectives and adverbs that could describe my behaviour.

As most of you know, I've been gigging since long before coming here and of course it has its ups and downs with scheduling and the time constraints required. It also has a lucretive side especially when self control has no place in my temperament.

After a few years of steady playing and stashing the fruits of the gigs I decided to take inventory. What you see is cash that just got stashed in envelopes, in a sock drawer, a coffee cup here or there and other obvious places just out of sight.

I thought the best way to get a grip on these pictures is to put them into perspective. So....

Ever wonder what.....

1 Gibson Custom might look like in paper?

2 Fender Deluxes?

3 Gibson Sg's on sale?

4 Telecaster Highway Ones?

5 Fender Player series Strats?

6 Epiphone Les Pauls?

Well, today I had to do some financial adjusting to pay off a debt that was about start accruing interest.

So these all went to the bank and my bonus at work covered the difference. So now I think I've paid off my Fender Deluxe, My Ibanez and a couple other guitars I probably already sold.

Feast your eyes on this...... :D :D :D

Don't worry, everyone, it's in the bank and I feel much less at risk.

Well thank you SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO much for showing me that, Bish - I just did a quick inventory of my current fiscal situation.

Wallet - nothing, except a couple of shop cards offering discounts.

Trouser pockets - a grand total of 36p - roughly 18c. And a couple of useless lottery tickets for tonights £7m rollover draw.

And that's all I've got till a week today....have fun counting! It'll take you a little longer than me.....

Oh well, there's always next weeks lottery.......

:D :D :D

I can beat that.
In my wallet I have some...receipts. And lint.

Well if I spread out all my bills on the table they would beat that! Oh...wait.

All my life I wanted to be somebody. Now I see I should have been more specific.

Wasn't as mindboggling as the pics I got sent recently of a busted drug dealer's house in Mexico. All the cabinets and furniture were stacked solid with 100s in that one.

haahaa, funny you guys!!

Well I could certainly use more. I still have gear that needs paying off and I'm sure more gear that needs purchasing. But I prefer to earn mine in an honest fashion.

I just got home from another two nighter. 3:30 AM with a half hour drive home from the town we were in. When I left the temp was a balmy 13° F and when I got home 6 hours later it was -1°F bbrrrrrrrr.

Yeah, this weather is nailing us bad too. It's down to 46 and next two nights, frost. Brrrrr. We had to turn our heat back on.

That's quite an impressive stash you got there. I can imagine the scene. Pile starting to grow and grow as you stand there wondering where else you might have jammed some green. Are you positive you got it all?

it is 16 degrees below zero this morning. a high of minus 3 is expected.
think I will stay indoors and use some of the gear I spent my cash on.

Bish. you remind me of some gigging. it is bar time and everyone is out the door.
you have just played your ass off for three hours and the party's over, no one to lug the gear, no one to drive you home.
yo0u are beat and wired at the same time. you want to relax and everyone is gone. why do 'we' do it?

Bish, I don't suppose you are a supporter of Scrybeaid? It's a charity to help young poor scrybes the world over...any donations would be gratefully welcomed.

Seriously though, with a stack like that, you could be a gangsta rapper....

Trust me it's already spent.

It is being used to pay off the "charge it" syndrome I got myself into over the last couple years.

It wasn't all music gear either. I totally decked out my Mustang with aftermarket and that one got away from me as well. So 3 years of spending has now been replaced with "pay it off" damage control.

Plus I found I don't really have MORE gear. Just more EXPENSIVE gear.
