I um fell asleep at the end of the bottom of the 8th, so I just had to check the final score. First game I've watched (most of) in over a year, took me an inning or two to start reading the stats propperly again. I do quite like baseball, but have the Yankees changed manager? Or did that guy just have like a serious health-check? The Tigers were awesome last night, too, although they only showed the score for that. I like the Tigers, their manager is/was way kewl. Still undecided who I support though, seems to alternate depending on who's playing who, lol.
Pathetic men are easier to handle when you're drunk than when you're sober, but that's probably another argument for sobriety, lol.
Yeah Scrybe, the Yankees changed their Manager. Went with a much younger ex-catcher than the one they had. He's supposed to be the next best thing to the invention of the zipper. Much debate and distractions this past off season because of all this and more.
The Tiger's Manager, Jim Leyland, is a no-nonsense fireball. He's not afraid of anything. I'd sooner sandpaper a wildcat's arse in a phone booth than look at Jim cross-eyed.

Yeah Leyland is kewl, I like his character. I have a soft spot for the Tigers, largely because of watching him manage in a few games the first season I tried to watch regularly. Also, he (and the Tigers generally) remind me of how Liverpool F.C. used to be, the boot room was where our managers and caches came up from, and there was a ral family and history sense about the club. That's changed a fair bit as the game's got more money-centric, which has put me off a little, but Rafa has somehow managed to get us back to that ethos, despite not hitting the criteria the way some past guys have. Rafa, Gerrard, Carragher, and Alnso (and now Torres too, lol) have really done a lot of work these past years in keeping Liverpool's integrity as a club in the face of growing commercialism within the sport. In some ways, that fight has been both tougher and more important (imho) than any title we've won (although they've been wonderful, too!). There's still a Liverpool-way of playing football, perhaps more so now than ever. Our anthem You'll Never Walk Alone has been demonstrated time and again these past few seasons.
Yup, I reckon if I had to call it, I'd say the Tigers are baseball's Liverpool F.C. Gotta show them some love for that. 8)
I never could get into watch baseball on TV. Live, it is pretty fun to watch. I played it school yard style when I was young but never been on an organized team.
