Things like that do come and go. I was an avid motorcyclist for many years. Not quite 7 years ago I high-sided off my Harley and just about tore my right arm off at the shoulder. Went through surgery and a lot of difficult rehab. Took up guitar as part of that, not quite 6 years ago. Eventually sold the Harley a little over 2 years ago. Wasn't so important to me as it once was, and I needed the cash! It was fun, but I'm done.
"A cheerful heart is good medicine."
I have never ridden a motorbike, which, when taking into account my natural tendency to clumsiness, and the fact that I'm more disaster-prone than a wooden house built on the crater of an active volcano, is probably a good thing for A ) me and B ) the rest of the world.....

Little old lady broadsided me and my panhead in 84, took about ten years until I could put a bike together, then I sold it for marriage number three.
About three years ago, I found a 71 Triumph in about 15 milk crates, spent about nine months putting it back together, then promptly broke my right arm above the elbow. My arm is still broke, a steel plate holds my arm together, I can't get it fixed until I get some other health problems cleared up.
Every once in a while, I jump on it and ride it around the block just to remind myself that I still have it, but I can't afford to rebreak my arm and I don't trust the drivers around here...
I can think of some worst ways to amuse myself. Enjoy the bike RP! 8)
When I die, I want to go peacefully in my sleep like my grandfather, not screaming......
like the passengers in his car.
Baseball has a certain "Zen" about it. I have been a Cubs fan since 1965, so I understand :D Its not about if you win...Its all about the game :D

Ouch.
I used to ride bikes too. Sold the last one (A Norton Commando) well over 20 years ago. I was never that brilliant rider and it was fairly obvious that I'd stack it sooner or later.
Had a few "Solve your mid life crisis by buying a Harley" moments a couple of years back, but I chickened out and bought something with four wheels and a bit more metal instead...
Enjoy the bike Roy, I remember some pics you posted and it looked like a beauty. :)
know how you feel Roy. sorry to hear the announcement.
I injured a shoulder last summer and had to stop karate. I was six months from getting my black belt.
so.....can I have your hat?
I tore a muscle in my neck after a freak karate accident. Had to stop for two months, got 4 more months in, then my appendix rupurted, another two months off.

Like Chris said.. Ouch.
Used to be, was a part of me felt like hiding.. but now it comes through. Comes through to you.
Sorry to hear you had to give up playing the game Roy. Maybe you can volunteer coach a little league team in your area?

Ahh yes, Good ol' Wrigley Field! 8)
Nothing like a Cubs game at Wrigley on a sunny day with the wind blowing out towards Waveland Ave. I can taste the Chicago Style hot dogs now. :D Some of my favorite childhood moments were at a Cubs game. Still enjoy going or just watching the Cubs on WGN.
Nothing like it, and if the Cubbies win, that's just a bonus!

So Roy, do you really ride the bike like mentioned in your sig ?
Not this one. Kind of hard to throw around a 700+ pound bike.

Man, am i drooling now ?
I think the guys here who run around the streets on cheap measly bikes should see that one and perhaps than they won't be so macho.
By the way, how tall are you Roy.Will a 5 ft 7inch guy would be able to ride that monster ?
Yeah, I know plenty of people around that height who can ride those. I'm 5-11 and have no probs.
