However, along with the modeling it can also play like a normal strat. I think it's pretty innovative, although I probably wouldn't pick one up (after reading the reviews, it seems like there are some bugs in the digital tones) but I can see alot of other companies trying to copy this idea (maybe with more tones and such). What does everyone else think? Has anyone tried one yet?

I wonder if there is a supported upgrade path for when Roland improves the electronics. If not, after 5 to 10 years, one is left with an expensive Strat with a big cavity containing "old tech." I'd rather buy the Roland-ready Strat (hex pup installed) and an outboard Roland VG-whatever unit, as the latter can be upgraded without mucking up the guiltar. Might cost a bit more that way, and the synth cable won't be as convenient, but that's the compromise for having a more obsolete-proofed guitar with the same capabilities.]]></content:encoded>

Apparently, Fender has an exclusive deal with Fender.  I would imagine in the future, other companies will have it too, but now it is only Fender.  Although Line 6 had a modelling guitar before this one.]]></content:encoded>
