I have to admit too, at times I have noodled during discussions. A band I was in a few years back it seemed the singer and drummer had to have a 10 minute discussion between every song. Yes, it was about the music, but they simply spent too much time talking. I come to practice to practice, not talk. So, I was guilty on occasion of quietly noodling. They would get mad and yell at me, and I would get mad and tell them that I have been ready to practice for 10 minutes. We argued constantly in that band. :D

This sounds different. The director was giving instructions, everyone should be quiet.

Unless it goes on for 20 minutes. Jason You might be uptight, but you are not wrong, and the Classical Gasser is probably suffering from the common delusion that being good at something will make others admire and like him. Since you live in Fondy, maybe a good winter dip in Lake Winnebago would help him see the light -- get out your ice saw. It is called a group when everyone participates together. He is not participating so it is only a gathering. Your probably not the only one who noticed so he is distracting everyone. But - I have a confession :oops: - I've all too often caught myself noodling quietly (I hope quietly) when someone's been discussing whether this one would sound better in C or Eb. Even noodling in the matching key - must be infuriating :shock:
