I replaced the pickups in it, which were a little muddy for my tastes. I put in GFS Memphis pickups, and now the guitar is pretty darn close to a Rickenbacker's "jangly" sound for much less! Here are the pickups, with sound smaples, in case you are interested:

according to this site: http://www.guitardaterproject.org the serial number makes its a 1989 made in korea (factory unknown)
looks in great nick for a guitar thats almost 20 years old, kind of like a played in classic :) emailed the seller and the body is pretty much perfect, normal fret wear with no snagging of buzzing. gold hardware is well faded, but tbh i think it looks better that way.
