I am trying to get back into playing guitar. I picked up a Hughes and Kettner Tubemeister 5 combo amplifier and I really like it. The Epiphone is another story. No matter what I play it through it sounds horrible. It is so muddy sounding. It has been real discouraging but I guess that is what I get for buying a 120$ guitar. Has anyone else had this experience with this guitar? Also can you guys recommend an alternative? I am not set on a Les Paul. I am open to other ideas and I don't mind spending some money within reason. I can't afford 1000$ but maybe mid 500s or 600$. I am not kidding this Epiphone just sounds so bad. I have heard others that sounded fine, but I must have gotten a bad one. Thanks for your help! I like to play metal, classic rock, blues etc. I am not experienced, but it is frustrating to try to enjoy a guitar that sounds so muddy :(

Greg
