A-ha - here comes Torres! After having a poor tournament by his standards, what's the betting on him scoring when it really matters? Hat-trick in the last 15 mins? Come on, El Nino!

"My head says Spain - they look to have the strongest squad, no obvious weaknesses anywhere and plenty of strength in depth."
Who da man?

I didn't get around to it until the 12th...And I finally cast my ballot after thinking it over for a few days... I'm going with Spain

Spain win the World Cup after a frankly miserable 120 minute final. Still, I'm sure they're not complaining about that. Nor about Howard Webb being the ref.
Forlan takes the Golden Ball Award.
And the Golden Boot goes to 20 year old Thomas Muller, who came into the World Cup with only one cap for Germany to his name and less than 12 months playing first team football for his club. 5 goals. 3 assists. Definitely one to watch.
No word on Young Player of the Tournament yet. But I hope it goes to Muller, too. 8)
Edit: Muller has been named Best Young Player of the Tournament. Putting him in a league with Pele and Beckenbauer. So, that comparison to Pele I made earlier wasn't exactly off base. For the record, Pele didn't win the Golden Boot at his first tournament in 1958 and, although he did go on to win the World Cup, to be fair on Muller, the kid wasn't playing in the game his team lost to go out of the tournament. So, a potential Pele in the making, then?

For the showcase of the world's most popular sport, that was brutal.
2 uptight teams playing uninspired, over reffed ( ) futbol over 2 hours.
Glad someone*, anyone won before it went to the lame-o penalty kicks...
*"yo soy español, español, español..."
Congrats Nuno!

It's late. Nuno is sleeping.

Lmaoooo, hey Nuno, have you had a haircut? Cos that new avatar of yours looks damn cute.
I hear there's partying in the streets of Spain. I hear it all the way from Liverpool. I don't know how I'll get to sleep with that din going on....
Scrybe, and do you say Howard Webb is a good referee?

He is dreaming Spain won the FIFA World Cup...
...and Atletico won the Europa League....and Nadal won the men's title at Wimbledon.....and Liverpool will win the Premiership title?
For some strange reason, I have a sudden craving for Tapas, Sangria and Flamenco......

¡Olé! :note2:
El Niño injured in the last minute but he didn't feel any pain with the cup in his hands.
And I don't know if you know it. Pepe Reina told Iker Casillas where Cardozo throw the penalty because Liverpool played against Benfica two months ago.
You'll never walk alone.
Tied at the end of regulation, one disemboweling, one red card. I don't know why I bothered to watch it, since I already knew what would happen.
Yep, just me, the octupus and my vuvuzuela...
Fernando Torres was pitifull once again... lol but hurrah Spain, I was rooting for them from the beginning.
I didn't want it to go to penalty and Iniesta pulld through in the end.hurray for Spain...
I wanna be that guy that you wish you were ! ( i wish I were that guy)
