Had a few beers with a few lads tonite and I wasn't the only one who felt like saying it , just happens I DID

So you just voiced out loud what everyone was thinking....and at least you're no hypocrite. Your old ma was right - honesty is the best policy, although sometimes it's better to count to ten....and THINK first.....these days I count to twenty, give the brain cell time to get in gear.....

I actually felt quite small, tonight, when someone I'd had a go at - no excuses, there was no need for it, I was completely out of order and I realise it now - wished me a happy birthday. Takes a big man and a good heart to forget an insult like that, and I'm glad my apology was accepted.

Yeah I know what your saying man but I did feel very guilty when I was told " Well thats why I am ringing .. I'm not a hateful person really and words are just words . Thanks for understanding that I was only speaking my mind .

Mum always said " Honesty is the best Policy " my old mum had a million sayings a couple for every situation actually :lol: ..

Well, I am a pretty nice person.

Jim Amen to that. But there is a policy among nice persons to not to say themselves that they are nice. If they do so, then they are no longer nice. :lol: Drat!! :cry:

Ohh UCG that reminded me

After my ex and I had been seperated and I was dating the woman I am currently with, my ex and I had been fighting alot about the kids, her lack of effort in taking care of them, and all the usually divorce custody things.

Well, one morning I was really ticked at her and decided to write my girlfriend an email about how I felt about it all. Not one hestation in telling it like it was.

Except...

I had my ex so far on my brain that I typed her name into the TO box instead of my girlfriends.. :shock: :oops: and sent it. :shock: :oops: :lol:

funny thing was that it actually got her to focus and she was easier to deal with after she knew how I felt.

I have to agree with Geoo and Tele. If you thought the guy was a jerk, at least you were honest. Personally I would rather know that someone didn't like me than have them say nice words and lie. Besides, he is dead. I doubt he cares now what you think. :wink:

I had an experience like that with email. I forwarded an email that was blasting of a particular political candidate and his stance on some issues to a bunch of people on my list. One of them happened to be a member of the certain group of people in question and a very staunch supporter of this person. Ah well, I felt a little bad when I got her email back saying how offended she was but at least she knows where I stand now.

Sorry, maybe it's cause I'm not a very nice person in general, Well, I am a pretty nice person. I go out of my way to be nice, until i get ticked at someone but I still agree with Tele. Chances are that you werent the only one that didnt like the guy and he probably had a history of rubbing people the wrong way. Not to mention that it wouldnt have changed a thing had you not made your wish. It was his time.

Its decent for you to care though.

I got a phone call last while at work , one of my collegues rang and said

" Did you hear about <><><><>?

I replied no " I hope that old so and so just does this world a favour and drops dead " . As we have had many arguments over 20 years all work related , a huge clash of personalities . I would even avoid him in the streets as it wasn't worth my time to walk past him in case I did something or said something that I would regret later ..

My collegue on the phone said well thats why I am calling you , he did last night after work ..

Well talk about foot and mouth , the ground could have opened up and swallowed me .. And now I feel very guilty for saying such a thing ..

Has something like this happened to you ?

Chris,

it was nearly 3 hours before anyone knew what was going on. The police had the place surrounded, specialist police were going through the building, trying to find hostages, bodies and/or the shooter. The last thing they bothered about was the parents and all the teachers and school administration were with the kids.
I can live without that sort of "excitement", thanks...
