If it were me I would make it more unique than the painting it's based of off and do some shading and such on Jimi himself. Would look even more trippy then, IMO, with a graphic guitar and crazy background, but somewhat realistically shaded face and clothes.

Nice job though. At least you get off your butt and do paintings, unlike yours truly, who can't get the &*&(^ing guitar out of hand. :) it's acrylic on canvas (40inch x 40inch).

i know what you mean by the head size...but it was intentional - as was the size of his hands! :) Because the canvas is square i felt it fills the space more.

the splatters and exploding guitar/jacket/afro are meant to capture his explosive style! i did get carried away with the 'diana ross' afro...but i like it :D

i'm about to put it on ebay as i need fast cash for a plexi head. but i've got another 40x40 that i'm gonna do another with. It'll be pretty much the same
