If you have decided to stick with Yamaha I think it is easier. You can go to stores and play all of them in your budget, probably they will be four or five different guitars. Try to feel each one and choose your favorite.

So I went to the Yamaha website and there's a lot of choice! I'm very confused as to the difference's given in all the series. Any insight or experience with any of the guitars would be appreciated :).

Make sure you try one out before ordering, as some people do not like the slightly wider necks on Seagulls.

I always recommend Yamaha's for acoustics... they make excellent guitars. I really miss my old FG-340... a lot!

When you went to your local shops did you play any that felt comfortable to you? Did any stand out while you played them? Go back to the shop and really take your time and see if you can find it there. Or if you find a couple, note the brand name or model numbers, features, and come here and we can discuss them if we have had any experience with them.

I've looked in the stores a couple of times and been looking around... but I'm a bit lost, so I thought I would ask you guys on here... who always seem to have the answers ;).

Really I cant go over £500 (UK). I currently play a Yamaha F310... which is a pretty bog standard setup, but I've got a lot of play out of it. I'd like something with a lot of presence, and that ideally, is easy to play (of course). Any recommendations?
