I am so sorry I wasn't eaten. my gear stays home.

the ride out and back, 1200 miles, was long. we played the two ukuleles I brought.
a baritone, tuned EADG, and a soprano, CEAG. also a Martin back packer set up for slide.
great fun. the van had a DVD player too.
it would have been nice to play in the back country, but high elevation, UV rays, rain and cold
could have destroyed those little things. plus we needed all the food and weather gear we could carry.
the packs ended up weighing 45 lbs or so. as food was eaten the weight dropped. but we had to carry out
everything we brought in. so not too much changed.

after the first hike in I felt I would never be able to do that four more times.
the next morning, however I fine. sore but fine and ready.
I am not bragging, I am expressing how incredulous it seems that I could do it.
