I've also used Musicnotes.com. Their selection is wider, but you'll pay much less at Sheet Music Direct for guitar tabs if they have them. They run US $ 0.99 at Sheet Music Direct and more like US $4.95 at musicnotes. Another good site is Freehand Music.

I'm wanting to purchase a couple of songs in sheet music, which I haven't been able to find in-store in Australia as yet. Has anyone had experience (good or bad) with online print music sites? I'm particularly interested in whether they can be printed to PDF (I've noticed they all want to install a reader and give you a "one print only" option).

Cheers.

Single sheets here in the States are almost unheard of anymore, as far as I know. I haven't seen a single sheet for years. At least in my area.

I've used Sheet Music Direct for a couple of songs. They were .99 each. I also used Musicnotes once or twice. I think you have to be very discriminating in looking at the versions they are showing. Some of them were like "What!? What is that!?" Usually all I do is print the first page sample to kind of get started.

If you go to Ultimate Guitar and find a Power Tab, most of those are great. And free. I even found "Pilate's Dream" from Jesus Christ Superstar as a power tab. I want to learn to play it chords and melody.

Yes, but the software that allows you to view the purchased sheet music somehow detects that you are printing to PDF software and not a real printer.
It does not allow you to "print" to a PDF. I've tried.

How about using Microsoft OneNote ? We could simply paste the site content alongwith the sheet music as a note.

Or if everything fails, in the end we have the ol'skool method of scanning. Print HQ. Scan HQ. Almost as good as a PDF for me. :)
