I have been in no hurry to close my swimming pool since the weather has been unpredictably warm here. I usually close it in late September or early October. Well I decided to close it today while it was 60 degrees out because it is going to snow tomorrow. Supposedly a couple of inches.

I remember what I think is a funny story from when I was living in South Carolina. One day the weather man was off on the radio station I listened to and one of the female DJ's filled in on the weather. She read through it and ended with a 40% chance of rain. You could hear the other DJ talking to her but could not hear what he was saying. It turns out he was telling her to look out the window. It was pouring down rain outside so she amended her forecast to 100% chance of rain.

Perfect weather here. :D

Believe it or not, here in Perth we actually get more annual rainfall than say Oxford in the UK. But instead of coming down in endless drizzle it gets on with the job and buckets it down when the time comes.

So we get a lot of beautiful sunny weather, and also some great winter storms.

Oddly enough many people in Perth still act as if it doesn't rain, and you often see people just walking through it as if to say "This doesn't happen here, so I'll just ignore it!"

Despite the fact that it gets cold enough to burn three or four tons of firewood each winter, I still don't own either an overcoat or a raincoat, just a couple of jumpers....... :? We're all mad.....

Cheers, Chris
