The piezo pickup adds a bit of roundness/airiness to the sound.  It's not a hollow body but it's closer than a straight magnetic pickup.  If you want to go the simulation route then maybe try a guitar with a piezo pickup.]]></content:encoded>

                        <content:encoded><![CDATA[The SG is about as far away from a semi hollow body guitar as you can get - the typical SG tone is rather narrow with a strong emphasis on the upper mid frequencies, that's what people play them for, they 'cut through' in the mix, not unlike a Tele.<br>You will be able to get some sort of quasi hollowbody tone by using the neck pickup and rolling off the treble, but it will never have the "air" and "3-dimensional" debth of a semi hollowbody - it's just not made for that, it's one of the most typical rock'n'roll guitars there is.]]></content:encoded>
